Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing.
Brainspotting functions as a neurobiological tool to support the clinical healing relationship. There is no replacement for a mature, nurturing therapeutic presence and the ability to engage another suffering human in a safe and trusting relationship where they feel heard, accepted, and understood.
Brainspotting gives us a tool, within this clinical relationship, to neurobiologically locate, focus, process, and release experiences and symptoms that are typically out of reach of the conscious mind and its cognitive and language capacity.
Brainspotting works with the deep brain and the body through its direct access to the autonomic and limbic systems within the body’s central nervous system. Brainspotting is accordingly a physiological tool/treatment which has profound psychological, emotional, and physical consequences.

I am a bilingual Latina clinician, shaped by the resilience of my immigrant parents, whose sacrifices have instilled in me a deep commitment to serving my community. My journey into the field of therapy is rooted in a passion for helping others heal, grow, and thrive.
I earned my academic training at California State University, Chico, and California State University, Fullerton, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. I work with individuals, children, couples, and families, addressing a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges such as communication, trust, intimacy, emotional regulation, and substance use.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in compassion and collaboration, integrating Attachment Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe that therapy is a transformative process and a space where clients can feel truly heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
I also believe that if nothing changes, nothing changes. By raising awareness and consciousness, clients can begin to rewrite the patterns that hold them back and move toward the life they envision. I aspire to help change the world one heart at a time.
Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in arts and crafts, music, exploring nature, running, and nurturing my spirituality. These experiences continually remind me of the importance of balance, connection, and living with intention.

Twelve years ago, I decided to pursue a career in social work, and I am currently on my journey to become a licensed clinical social worker. My passion lies in helping people achieve wellness and find happiness and satisfaction in their lives. I find great fulfillment in empowering my clients to recover and maintain their well-being through various interventions, including mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
I have eight years of counseling experience, working with couples, children, and individuals. I am deeply committed to counseling and approach my clients' needs and goals with empathy.
On a personal note, I enjoy hiking, camping, and being in nature. I also love golfing and swimming, and my favorite pastime is spending time with friends and family.

My name is Niki Hughes, and I am an associate marriage and family therapist. I am currently completing my required hours under the supervision of Kimber Serna. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus on social psychology, as well as a master’s degree in counseling psychology.
I believe that support, empathetic care, and the development of safe, strong relationships are essential for fostering positive change. I am passionate about creating a secure therapeutic environment where I can guide my clients toward improving their functioning in all aspects of life.
I have experience working with individuals who struggle with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My approach is rooted in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which helps clients manage, regulate, and process their emotions. Additionally, I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Bowen’s family systems theory, and neurofeedback.
My work with clients is collaborative and client-centered, aiming to provide education, coping skills, and resilience that clients can carry with them throughout their lives. I enjoy working with our community to address clients' needs, reduce symptoms, enhance personal strengths, and promote positive personal growth.

I use an integrative, client-centered approach that draws from evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, neurofeedback, and trauma-informed care.
I enjoy working with individuals who are committed to personal growth and are ready to take an active role in their wellness. My goal is to empower clients to recognize their own resilience and take control of their healing process. I believe that you are a reflection of what you invest in yourself and that meaningful, lasting change is possible for anyone willing to make the choice and commitment to recovery.
My experience includes working with trauma, addictions, ADHD, teenagers, couples, children, and families. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where each person can feel seen, heard, and encouraged as they work toward their goals.

I was born and raised in this wonderful northern state and graduated from Shasta College. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) from National University with honors and was inducted into an honor society. My therapeutic approach is integrative, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy.
Additionally, I am a Certified Equine Assisted Therapist, utilizing the presence of horses to help clients cope with stress and anxiety, facilitate trauma healing, and establish healthy boundaries. My passion is to empower individuals to create the life they have always dreamed of.

I am a bilingual (English/Portuguese) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity, compassion, and resilience.
