Kimber Serna, MA. LMFT 101846
I am a bilingual Latina clinician, shaped by the resilience of my immigrant parents, whose sacrifices instilled in me a deep commitment to serving my community. My journey into the field of therapy is rooted in a passion for helping others heal, grow, and thrive.
I earned my academic training at California State University, Chico and California State University, Fullerton, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. I work with individuals, children, couples, and families, addressing a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges (such as communication, trust, intimacy, and emotional regulation), and substance use.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in compassion and collaboration, integrating Attachment Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe therapy is a transformative process and a space where clients can feel truly heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
I also believe that if nothing changes, nothing changes. By raising awareness and consciousness, clients can begin to rewrite the patterns that hold them back and move toward the life they envision. I aspire to help change the world one heart at a time.
Outside the therapy room, I find joy in doing arts and crafts, music, exploring nature, running, and nurturing my spirituality. These experiences continually remind me of the importance of balance, connection, and living with intention.
I decided to become a social worker about 12 years ago and am still on my journey to become a licensed clinical social worker because my passion is to help people get well and be happy and satisfied in their lives. I love seeing my clients be empowered to get well and stay well using various interventions such as mindfulness, motivational interviewing and solution focused therapy. I have experience with couples, children and individual therapy. I have been doing counseling for 8 years. I am very passionate about doing counseling and am very empathetic to my clients’ needs and goals. On a personal note I love to go hiking, camping and enjoy nature. I also enjoy to go golfing and swimming and my favorite is to spend time with friends and family.
